DJI Avata FPV Drone Gets a Big Firmware Update

DJI’s compact Avata FPV drone just got a major new firmware upgrade with a number of safety improvements. Plus, it’s now compatible with some of DJI’s new peripherals.

The latest firmware version for Avata is v01.03.0000. Depending on which goggle and remote controller devices you’re using, you’ll need to update them to specific firmware versions. For example, DJI Goggles 2 users should upgrade to v01.05.0000, while DJI FPV Goggles V2 users need v01.07.0000. The DJI FPV Remote Controller and DJI Motion Controller should both be updated to v02.00.0600. Don’t forget to update your Fly app to v1.9.8 as well!

DJI has also released firmware updates for the brand-new DJI Goggles Integra (v01.01.0000) and RC Motion 2 (v01.01.0000), designed to elevate your Avata experience to new heights. These cutting-edge goggles and joystick promise to make first-person flight even more enjoyable for pilots.

The Avata’s firmware update brings a host of safety enhancements. After updating your Home Point, you’ll now receive an RTH altitude prompt. Additionally, you can choose to receive visual alerts when remote control or image transmission signals are weak – but keep in mind, this feature is only available when using DJI Goggles 2 or the new Goggles Integra.

Finally, the low-battery RTH countdown now extends to a generous 15 seconds, and you can effortlessly erase all aircraft data by navigating to Settings > About > Clear All Data.
